An experienced real estate professional and entrepreneur, Stacy Stine Cary is also very involved in her community. In addition to involvement with charities such as Apartment Angels, Stacy Stine Cary has been a Girl Scout Leader and Cookie Mom for the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas for the past five years.

Part of the larger Girl Scouts of America organization, the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas are members of a community of nearly two million Girl Scouts across the country. In addition to ongoing patch programs and other events, the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas host five different camp programs.

Located near Dallas, Camp Whispering Cedars hosts a pool, hiking trails and a large cabin for events. Camp K and Camp Rocky Point are two lakeside camps on Lake Texoma, where campers can kayak, canoe, and swim. Camp Gambill features updated cabins and a putt-putt course, while the final camp, Bette Perot, features horse riding and a high ropes course. Girl Scout Cookie Sales in Northeast Texas

An active volunteer in her community, Stacy Stine Cary contributes her time to such family and child-focused groups as the Parent Education Committee and the Child Abuse Prevention Center. Stacy Cary also works to empower young women by volunteering for the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas.

Since its humble beginnings in 1917 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the Girl Scout Cookie Program has encouraged the development of leadership and entrepreneurial skills in girls ages 5 through 18. The program gives cookie sellers five key skills: setting and working towards goals; managing money; making decisions; communicating well; and developing a strong foundation in business ethics. According to a study conducted in 2012, more than half of all Cookie Program participants showed measurable growth in all five areas.

Because the Cookie Program welcomes Girl Scouts of all ages, even the youngest Daisy Scouts learn to talk to customers, work well together, and manage group funds responsibly. They learn about the hard work that goes into making money, and experience first-hand the results of their efforts. When they meet their goals, Girl Scouts can use their cookie revenues to pay for field trips, camps, and other exciting activities. This teaches them that business management and entrepreneurship contribute to success in other areas.
